Ring-necked Ducks are sometimes attacked by Pied-billed Grebe, despite the fact that Pied-billed's are much smaller.

Greater Scaups can be differentiated from Lesser Scaups by their rounded heads, versus Lessers which have pointed heads.

The male Ring-necked Ducks are the ones that have no grey on their backs, and instead of having white on their sides, they have grey.
