Blue-winged Teals and Great Blue Herons eat different things, so they can coexist peacefully.

Blue-winged Teals are very small, being only 16in long to the about two feet of Mallards.

This was the first time we saw Tree Swallows, and were surprised by the small 5in birds flying so fast and close to the water.
