5.19.23 Sherman Park, Chicago, IL

This was our second visit to Sherman Park. These photos are chronologically arranged except for the last picture. We spent about an hour at the park in the interior bird-watching and playing with an Aerobie. It is a wonderfully quiet oasis in the city. Well, except for the house across Racine that raises roosters.

Wilson's Warblers have what some people think of as a hat or cap, but we think of it as a toupee.

Least Flycatchers are part of the group Empidonax, which includes some very similar-looking flycatchers, so I don't love them.

The best way to attract Eastern Wood-Pewees to your yard is to have a stagnant water source for bugs, as they eat bugs.

American Goldfinches eat only plants and seeds, except for the accidentally swallowed bug.

We saw this Canada Goose Family crossing Racine on the way to Sherman Park by Testa Produce's water feature.
