5.28.23 Beaubien Woods, Chicago, IL

This post is in progress. Please see older posts for descriptive content.

We were hoping to see another owl or more osprey at Beaubien. No luck, but we did see multiple red-tailed hawks. My mom thought she saw a new species of water fowl on the other bank of the river. We spent a long time tracking it and eventually identified it as a common merganser who was molting. We did spot a white tail deer on the hill across the river.
