8.4.23 Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary I, Chicago, IL

WE SAW A PIPING PLOVER!!!

Ari and Anne had plans to meet a friend while Gabe and Ima went to Montrose beach. When our friend cancelled we decided we would still visit Montrose. So, Gabe and Ima went birding while Anne and Ari went swimming. Montrose beach has a sandbar about 15 feet from shore, so you can go out quite far and still be in shallow water. It's such a huge beach in every way. Anyway, they cut swimming short when Gabe waved them in. We all ran back to see Searocket, the last piping plover of the season.
