We came to McGinnis Slough with the intention of seeing the American Wigeon that had been reported with Ebird earlier in the day, and while we didn't see that, we did see the Trumpeter Swans, their cygnets, and about 150-200 Blue- and Green-winged Teal and Mallards. We also spotted a Osprey carrying a Silver Carp to their nest, and while that was something we had wanted to see for a while now, that's not the most exciting thing we saw that day. As we arrived at the Osprey nest, one started calling, then the other. Off towards the horizon, another Osprey started flying towards us, and we noticed that it had a GOLDFISH in it's talons!!! That was definitely very cool!
