We saw the possible Krider's Red-tail again!! Actually, that was probably pretty confusing. Let me explain. This if definitely a Red-tailed Hawk, but it might be a rare subspecies! Krider's Red-tails are a very light subspecies that doesn't usually live in Illinois, but every once in a while one blows through or stays. There is one that lives in really southern Illinois as of this post, but there has NEVER, I repeat, NEVER been a photo of a Krider's Red-tailed Hawk posted on eBird for Cook County, Illinois! So if this is a Krider's, it would be really big, especially because it is staying here!
