We went to this Peregrine Falcon banding led by Mary Hennen in Evanston. It was incredible to be so close to these beautiful birds while they were being banded and to see all the work that goes into this task! And while it was a public event, we were honored to be there! We are so grateful to all of the banders and helpers for being willing to do this event. It must be hard enough to put bands on and take measurements from these young, but still powerful, birds, but they have to do it all summer! It was also really cool to hear young Peregrines closer than the nest we monitor.
