Today we went to Illinois Beach State Park to look for a Whimbrel, a large shorebird that we have been looking for for about a year now! Discord was an essential part of us finding it, so thank you to everyone on Discord who gave updates on it and shared information! We walked down the beach, and once we got to the last place it was seen according to Discord, one came flying out of the grasses, calling! We got a few more opportunities to see and photograph it, but after a while it walked somewhere there were too many people, so it flew away, out of sight. It was amazing to see this bird after looking for so long!
