10.31.24 Eagle, Colorado (California trip Day 3)

From 10.29.24-11.6.24 my father, brother and I drove from Chicago to San Diego and back. This is part of Day 3.

See all of the California trip posts at the California trip 2024 page.

We didn't walk around much in Eagle, Colorado, but we saw lots of birds! (and even an Elk!) We saw 2 darker Red-tailed Hawks, which was exciting because we only see lighter Red-tailed Hawks in Chicago and surrounding places. We were surprised by Black-billed Magpies, a Steller's Jay, and an Elk, all by the road! We also saw a Common Raven fly onto a corrugated metal roof, hop on it a few times, then fly away! I might not have gotten a photo of it hopping, but it was amazing to see!
