10.29.24 Illini State Park, Illinois (California trip Day 1)

From 10.29.24-11.6.24 my father, brother and I drove from Chicago to San Diego and back. This is part of Day 1.

This is what we saw this day: 10 Turkey Vultures (two sitting, one flying very close), 2 Bald Eagles, 6 Red-tailed Hawks (two were hovering), “Something over there”: 1, bison in farm, Mississippi River, Iowa river, murmuration of 300 starlings on a field, a bunch of fox squirrels

On the first day of our drive to California, we stopped at Illini State Park. We might not have stayed long, but we did see some fun stuff! We saw the Illinois River, pretty fall colors, some Fox Squirrels, and two perched Turkey Vultures! The Turkey Vultures were surprising because we don't see them in trees very often.
