From 10.29.24-11.6.24 my father, brother and I drove from Chicago to San Diego and back. This is part of Day 4.
See all of the California trip posts at the California trip 2024 page.
We came to Clark County Wetlands Park in hopes of seeing Ibis, and while we missed them, we saw lots of amazing things! Clark County Wetlands is an oasis, and if you cross a particular bridge, you can hike in the desert! (Spoiler alert: we 100% did not cross that bridge.) One of my favorite birds we saw here was the Phainopepla. They are such cool birds! Another of my favorites was the Great Blue Heron standing on a lamp post. That was definitely a surprise!
